Eva Karpati Dito Nail Lacquer in Ebony (Refract)

Ok, so I got this nail polish a while ago and my nails finally got long enough to try it out.

I was excited by the clever design and the packaging, which was printed with images of the sparkly, black nail colour. It thought it was going to be this amazing, glittery black colour - like a starry night sky on my nails.

I must say, I was quite disappointed. And let me tell you, it’s pretty difficult to make me disappointed with nail polishes. But I think this brand put all their effort into the bottle design.

Firstly, the colour was nothing like what was shown on the box. There was hardly any glitter or shimmer. It was just a boring black and it wasn’t even very shiny (it was a weird semi-matte). Furthermore, the little pieces of non-sparkly ‘glitter’ in the nail polish made the polish look grainy on my nails. And then secondly, it was such a poor quality that it started chipping the next day. Now I have pretty weak nails and polishes don’t usually last as long on my nails as they do on stronger ones, but one day? That was a bit ridiculous.

I don’t know what other people’s experience with this polish is like, but I for one will probably not buy it.

Overall, I give it 5/10 - for an awesome bottle but a mediocre polish.

Bellabox May 2012

I quite liked this box. It had a good combination of products which covered hair, skin, and makeup.

I am interested to try the EmerginC hydra-repair. I received some EmerginC skin care samples in the last box, so I will try all of them together. I have never used capsules on my face before so I’m intrigued to see if the concentrated product will be effective.

I’m also glad I got some makeup products in this box. A Savoir Fair lipstick and a Bobbi Brown mascara. I’m actually running out of mascara so that was a bonus. I have received a lot of lipsticks in previous boxes but they were never in a colour I could wear (they were always goldy/orangey browns). But this colour was perfect! It is dark enough for me to wear out at night and suitable enough to wear in the day as well. I’m quite happy with that one. And it is such a cute mini size :)

And on a random side note… I thought it was cool when I spread out all the products that they were all black and white haha.
